A new beginning is my first solo album and was born in a very delicate period of my life and that of all of us human beings, the pandemic caused by the Covid 19 virus.
It comes at the end of a long course of study, listening, and observation of the social themes most dear to me, but above all from the need to shout out to the world my idea of music and more.
It is a largely autobiographical concept album consisting of 15 tracks through which I tried to express my point of view on today's society by taking a cue from my personal problems and my life experiences.
It is a record of which I have taken care of all aspects related to the production at 360 degrees, starting from the composition of the music to the creation of the basic tracks, to the drafting of the texts (in tandem with my right arm Gianluca del Torto), from the choice and coordination of the numerous collaborators (about 30 including musicians, singers, sound engineers, and illustration artists) to the final mix in concert with Francesco Mattei at Underworld studio.
The album is musically very heterogeneous but can be divided into 3 macro areas: the most personal and autobiographical songs (Oh Father, Growing Old, Things to Live and to Die for, and Family and Business), some more experimental and related to mine great passion for cinema and film music (Intro, In November, Is it that girl right? and Out of this world), and finally the trilogy A new beginning part A, B and I hope I will always be here with me who represent my background linked to the world of Progressive rock on environmental issues and respect for others.
Musically speaking, the album is quite complex from a harmonic point of view and is based on my idea of circularity, that is, arrangements created ad hoc in order to merge genres, my important academic studies, and infinite previous plays.
The texts, especially the autobiographical ones, are decidedly crude and speak of me and my relationship with my family, but in a key that most of the time I use as a pretext to describe relationships, situations, and problems common to all.
